Heat Pump
Make sure that the thermostat is set on "HEAT" and at least 2 degrees above room temperature
Check to make sure that the air filter is clean.
Is there power to the unit(s)?
Check the power supply, fuses, or breakers.
Turn the fan switch from "AUTO" to "ON" and check to see if the fan is running.
If the fan is running on a package unit, you should have power to the whole unit. If the fan runs on a split system, power is on to the air handler (indoor unit) but possibly not to the condensing unit (outdoor unit). If you are still not sure, contact Sea Coast for service.
Is the compressor and outdoor fan running?
If not, check for an external reset switch and contact SeaCoast for service.
Is there more than one half inch ice accumulation on the outdoor coil?
If yes, switch to the "EMER HEAT on the thermostat and contact Sea Coast for service
If the compressor and outdoor fan are running with no ice accumulation and you still have not heat, contact Sea Coast for service.
Gas Furnace
Is the thermostat calling for heat?
Make sure that the thermostat is set on "HEAT" and at least 2 degrees above room temperature.
Check to make sure that the air filter is clean.
Is there power to the furnace?
Check the power supply, fuses, or breakers.
Turn the fan switch from "AUTO" to "ON" and check to see if the fan is running.
Check the door panels on the furnace to make sure that they are secure.
If the fan is running there is power to the furnace.
If there is still no power to the furnace, contact Sea Coast for service.
Does the unit attempt to light?
If not, turn the power off for approximately 30 seconds and then back on.
Check the furnace again.
If the furnace still does not attempt to light, contact Sea Coast for service.
If the furnace attempts to light but the burners do not ignite, contact Sea Coast for service.
Does the furnace have a continuously burning pilot?
If the pilot is not burning, re-light it or contact Sea Coast for service.
If the pilot is burning but does not ignite the burners, contact Sea Coast for service.
